Bulletproof™ tattooing is a specific method of tattoo application that I developed over the last two and a half decades of tattooing. It ensures the highest possible quality and saturation which means not just a much longer lasting tattoo, but one that looks dramatically newer and brighter for a much longer period of time compared to a standard tattoo

What’s the process like?
First off, for a large project we will keep track of our progress in the form of a timeline so clients can have a visual reminder of their tattoos progress.
Here are the five basic steps of this timeline broken down
Stage 1. greylining, Bold extra crisp and saturated Black lines and color lining
Quality lines make or break a tattoo. one weak spot or wiggly curve ant the whole piece leaves a trashy impression. That’s why we gremlin a large piece first. quality guaranteed!
There are a number of benefits to greylining your large scale tattoos. Primarily that the fit and flow can be much further dialed in and perfected over the sometimes unpredictable 3D shapes of the body and how that can distort an image. Greylines allow us to make corrections. improvements and additions without having to worry about the black lines showing through. Getting a complimentary fit to the body that is really perfected.
For large tattoos being able to break our tattoos into manageable sessions is vital to keeping a winning pace. With greylines acting as a permanent stencil this allows us to do bold lines in easy to manage sessions that can be started and stopped at a pace that is best for the client as they adjust to the world of large scale tattoo sessions.
No more Olympic marathon style outlining sessions that tear your soul from your body! Youve got nothing to prove here and pushing the body too hard WILL result in worse quality lines. This way we ensure that all the lines are top notch no matter what pace you decide is right for you.
Stage 2. Anchor Shading
The boldest and deepest areas of a design go in first. This gives us a solid foundation whether we are doing color or black and gray for this tattoo. Only the solid black and minimal deep dark tones get filled in on this step so we can more effectively build a final plan for the perfect color and tone.
Stage 3. foundation.
Just like pouring concrete for the foundation of a house, this stage fills out each major area with either the base color or the base tone that it needs to look perfect. This allows us to build details and patterns with a rich saturation that cannot be achieved with just one layer. Just like building a house you can then add walls, a roof and all the furnishings.
This is by far the largest step of the whole process Climbing to the peak of this mountain can be challenging but rewarding. Good news, after this stage it’s all downhill from here.
Often whole areas can need to be filled with just one or two colors so it can appear temporarily flat on the tones at this stage. Its all part of a larger process. A little bit of an ugly duckling stage before it turns into a swan in the next step.
Stage 4. detail, depth and pattern
Here’s the fun part. this is where all the tricks come alive. Super refined textures and ultra vibrant color saturation come together in this step to pull off effects that most tattooers don’t even know you can achieve in such a permanent and stable way. now effects and color patterns that used to fade too fast work. this means you can make textures that look like paper or vintage prints, and pastel detailed color fades that hold beautifully, even in the form of color line and textile patterns. not only will your tattoo look brand new for twice as long now, but it will look tremendously cooler the whole damn time too! this is when your tattoo crosses the threshold and starts to look more like a painting or a wild screen print.
stage 5. Contrast and highlights
This is the stage that gives it the signature bright crispy punch that makes it seem brand new for just so much longer than an average tattoo.
Even folks that don’t like tattoos will have to give it up for these. This is the pinnacle form of tattooing. YOU will look old before your tattoo does. Rock out till you are a hundred and you will look damn cool doing it
